A celebration of culture, fashion and tradition.

Last Monday, we presented our FW25 Oreka collection at the Trinquet de la Cavalerie, a historic Basque pelota club built in 1929, located in the heart of Paris. This space is linked to our roots and the inspiration for the collection.

The name Oreka, which means “balance” in Basque, presents the essence of one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the Basque Country: pelota.

More than a sport, Basque pelota represents community, heritage and culture. Each piece embodies the link between cultural identity and a vision for the future.

In a world that often moves too fast, we draw inspiration from the slow and intentional processes of Basque craftsmanship, reclaiming traditional techniques and indigenous materials. Each garment is an exploration of textures, volumes and meanings, with details that transform elements of play into fashion narratives.

The collection of special pieces incorporates reused ball cutouts, worked by local artisans who maintain traditional techniques. The handmade bustieres are almost sculptural elements in which the ball cutouts mimic the seams and round shape characteristic of the original material.

The cutouts on the pilotas are not mere decorative elements; they represent infinity and the SKFK logo, weaving the brand's identity into the tradition.

Felt, a fundamental material in the Basque tradition, acquires a new meaning in the collection. It is applied on light fabrics such as tulle, in a combination of opposing techniques that provide a decorative and pictorial character.

Crochet, on the other hand, becomes a tribute to the xare, the racket used in the Basque pelota game of the same name. Through this technique, we reflect the woven structure of the racket, establishing a parallelism between textile craftsmanship and the fabric of the sport.

The wood of the zesta punta, used in the traditional baskets used to propel the ball, also finds its place in the collection. Reused in structured bustieres, this material brings rigidity and a sculptural component to the garments, fusing artisanal heritage with a modern, avant-garde silhouette.

Through these materials and techniques, the special pieces of the fashion show are a tribute to the Basque pelota, but also a demonstration of our union with art, creativity, design and craftsmanship.
